Flow
猫猫的奇幻漂流
A cat, a flood, and a world without humans — Flow, the Latvian animated feature that stunned global audiences with its dialogue-free visual storytelling and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2025. When the film headed into global theatrical release, LI TRUST handled the core technical work of theatrical DCP mastering.
Dialogue-free animation puts very different demands on DCP mastering than a conventional narrative film. Sound design is the entire language of this film's storytelling, which makes precision control of the audio tracks especially critical. The LI TRUST technical team ran complete sound pressure level (SPL) measurements and dynamic range checks across all 16 channels, ensuring every sound detail is faithfully reproduced in a DCI-standard theatrical environment. For the picture, they performed HDR-to-SDR color conversion in the DCI-P3 color space and ran frame-by-frame color consistency checks across the entire film.
The final delivery was an encrypted DCP package compliant with SMPTE 429, including KDM key management services, enabling compliant screenings in theaters worldwide.
