Coco (Chara), after strangling her twin sister to death, is sent to a mental hospital by her parents. In this “special” place, she meets Curly (Tadanobu Asano) and Satoru (Koichi Hashizume) while dressed as an angel in black crow feathers, and the three become friends. Curly was committed after accidentally killing the perverted teacher who repeatedly abused him, and has since been haunted by nightmares. Satoru is a delusional paranoid detached from reality.
One day, Coco and Curly climb the hospital wall and venture into the outside world. The sound of hymns from a church stops them in their tracks. A kind pastor gives them a Bible, and Curly becomes convinced the world is ending. Coco, however, believes that only her own death marks the true end of the world. The three later climb the wall again and set off together to wait for the apocalypse.
