Down-on-his-luck Hideyoshi (Katsuya Takahashi) heads to a cherry tree, desperate to end his life. He runs into a runaway boy who seems almost magical, recalls a fellow yakuza's kidnapping tips, and impulsively becomes an amateur abductor. But the boy's father is a yakuza boss, and the snatch-and-grab spirals into a mess far bigger than he bargained for. His mentor insists he needs to kill the kid, yet Hideyoshi, now living day and night with the boy, has grown into a father-son bond — both of them finding the family warmth they've been missing. Kidnapping turns into real affection. Meanwhile, a detective who never makes it home joins the chase. The director also makes a cameo as a savvy yakuza, turning the ransom chaos into a lighthearted, heartwarming road movie.
