College student Fumiya Takemura (Odagiri Joe) can't catch a break. Abandoned by his parents as a child, his foster father in prison, he's been in university for eight years with no degree in sight and is drowning in debt—840,000 yen. Unable to pay up, he gets roughed up by debt collector Aiichiro Fukuhara (Miura Tomokazu).
On the eve of the final deadline, Fukuhara offers to wipe out all of Takemura's debt—on one condition: Takemura must accompany the gruff old man on a walk through Tokyo. Could be three days, could be a month, until Fukuhara is satisfied. With no other options, Takemura agrees to the bizarre request. And so begins an extraordinary journey...
