David Bowie's vocals, Jim Henson's puppets, and a 1986 fantasy journey that still captivates audiences — Labyrinth sits somewhere between musical and fantasy, a hybrid identity that made its subtitling far more complex than an ordinary feature's. The biggest challenge for LI TRUST was the song lyrics. The songs David Bowie performs in the film don't just drive the plot; they form the core of its emotional architecture. Every lyric had to meet four standards at once: rhyme, syllable count (for dubbing reference), semantic accuracy, and emotional tone. Working from word-accurate timecode, we delivered complete bilingual subtitles covering both lyrics and dialogue, plus an English version prepared for the international festival circuit. The final deliverables span three formats — SRT, SCC, and ASS — with Simplified and Traditional Chinese bilingual versions shipped together, helping the film's digitally restored version complete its multilingual global re-release.
