"Sorry, Baby" explores trauma and healing from an intensely personal perspective. The film's heavy reliance on internal monologue and fragmented narrative posed the core challenge for the subtitle team. Films of this kind carry substantial subtext beneath the literal dialogue, so the translator must strike a precise balance between spelling things out and leaving them unsaid. LI TRUST's subtitle team conducted an in-depth textual analysis and built psychological profiles for the characters before translation, ensuring tonal consistency across the film's shifting emotional scenes. Some lines are deliberately constructed with incomplete syntax and non-sequitur phrasing; these traits were intentionally preserved in the Chinese subtitles so that viewers experience the same psychological atmosphere as the original. LI TRUST also delivered a full annotation document explaining the rationale behind key translation decisions, for the distributor's archival reference. Deliverables were provided in SRT and SCC formats, covering both streaming and theatrical release.
