Sissi
茜茜公主
Set in 1955 Vienna, within the grandeur of the Austro-Hungarian court, and brought to life by Romy Schneider’s timeless portrayal of Empress Elisabeth—the *Sissi* trilogy remains one of the most beloved royal romances in European cinema history. When the digitally restored version of the films was set for re-release in the Chinese market, LI TRUST was tasked with a full modernization of the Chinese subtitles.
The original Chinese subtitles, produced in the 1980s, had become stylistically outdated for contemporary audiences. LI TRUST’s work went beyond translation—it was a complete subtitle overhaul. While preserving established historical name translations such as "茜茜公主" (Princess Sissi), we reinterpreted all dialogue in modern written Chinese and digitally refined the entire timecode track to match the restored version’s new frame rate.
In parallel, LI TRUST produced a German subtitle proofing version for European distributors to facilitate cross-version comparisons, ultimately delivering a complete multilingual subtitle package.
